Annie Palone

Annie Palone is an urban designer and community advocate based in Kingston, Ontario.

She holds dual master's degrees from the University of Texas at Austin in Urban Design and Landscape Architecture. Her 2014 handbook on Child Friendly Urbanism explores urban design strategies at three scales of intervention (in play places, housing, and ecodistricts).

 

Through A Palone Design, she works with government agencies, community organizations, and Indigenous-led groups on strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and design projects.

 

Annie serves on the Sydenham District Association board and as Vice-Chair of the Downtown Kingston BIA's Streetscapes & Public Spaces Committee. She is also Research Assistant to Queen's University Professor W. George Lovell.

 

Her work focuses on community-centred design, equitable development, and creating more livable cities.
